How do you say thank you for a great holiday party?

Years ago I had a Christmas dinner for 14 friends.  I will never forget one gift in particular.  A guest sent me a gift certificate to my favorite florist a week before the dinner party!  Now that was a time saver for me.  I love receiving flowers any time, don't get me wrong, but when someone hands you a bouquet of flowers while you are trying to greet 14 people arriving at the same time...well, you have to turn your attention to finding a vase and scissors, discarding the wrapping and doing their gift justice by arranging them in some sort of artistic way.  STRESSFUL!!!

Sending a gift certificate to a local wine shop, restaurant, gourmet shop or spa will eliminate a to-do item on their list and will surely be appreciated.
